(C. Proxmire, Sept. 7, 2013)

Bicycle riders from around the state gathered in Ferndale Wednesday morning for the start of cross-Michigan ride to raise money and awareness for diversity and equality.  Titled “Shore 2 Shore,” this is the first of what organizers hope will be a large annual fundraisers for LGBT community centers.  There are several centers around the state, including Affirmations in Ferndale, Jim Toy Center in Ann Arbor, and the Kalamazoo Gay and Lesbian Resource Center.

Ferndale 115 News Editor and Publisher is tagging along on the ride (in a van, not on a bike), providing support to the riders and documenting the experience,  so check back in next week for updates!
