Shine On Yoga Opens on Woodwardnicholas-schrock-allstate

(Carol Jackson, July 23, 2013)

Linda Marchione and husband Vito are owners. Linda started her path with Yoga 12 years ago, just wanting to learn head stands and being more physically strong. She had her Ah-HA moment after a short time in her practice, that Yoga is so much more than just a pose. She realized that it is a body, mind experience.

It’s about bringing higher values into one’s life: unity, community, equality.

She lives that life now, and she totally walks her talk. Marchione has taught Yoga for the last ten years, learning different types of practices and working at a variety of yoga studios locally. She decided it was time to bring her standards and love of yoga and open her own studio.

The Marchiones took over a space on Woodward, formally a clothing store, and transformed it in bubble_and_bark_ad_ferndale115just 30 days with plenty of help from friends.  It helps that Vito is a contractor too.

Shine On Yoga is a peaceful and loving environment where nine teachers are able to teach over 30 classes a week.  More will be added in the Fall. Package prices are very reasonable and she offers a variety of practices including Vinyasa, quick pace, a little cardio, and slow flow which concentrates on posture with holding poses for a longer time. Yin is a restorative, stress remover type of yoga. There is something for everyone that wants to improve their lives and raise their conscience nature. All nine teachers bring something a little different to the mix and are all experienced professionals.

Visitors will often be greeted by Vito at the front desk, and a get a fabulous smile and energy from Linda.
