People Love Parades in Clawson and Huntington Woods
(Crystal A. Proxmire, July 5, 2013)
While Ferndale is famous for having the longest running Memorial Day Parade, neighboring cities are the place to be for Independence Day. Oak Park, Huntington Woods and Clawson all hosted July 4th parades.
Attorney Tim Burns captured images of the parade in Clawson, which he’s shared with readers of the Ferndale 115. “It’s nice to have a hometown tradition like Clawson’s Fourth of July parade that you can enjoy spending time with your family at each year. The parade always does a nice job of paying tribute to our local community heritage, promoting patriotic pride for our nation and providing some fun entertainment to kick off the holiday,” Burns said.
Attorney Howard Collens, co-owner of Galloway and Collens PLLC in Huntington Woods, enjoyed the parade there from his vantage point on Scotia north of Nadine. “The parade is a great Huntington Woods tradition. Whether marching in it or watching, it is the best way that I know to kick off Independence Day,” he said.
Readers also shared their 4th of July fireworks pictures. Check those out at https://oaklandcounty115.com/2013/07/05/readers-share-july-4th-fireworks-memories-video/.
