Women Walking Woodward For Peace May 12massage

(from press release, April 28, 2013)

Women Walking Woodward for Peace is a walk from Detroit to Ferndale in honor of pacifism.  Even organizers said “This is not an Anti-War march, we have signs and banners with a pro-peace message. Acoustic instruments are welcome. Our inspiration comes from Julia Ward Howe’s Mother’s Day proclamation, so come in peace and plan to have a very alternative Mother’s Day celebration, bring Mom! The event is family friendly.”

We need volunteers:
Support Vehicle & driver (mini-van preferred) – This individual will transport our water, snacks & first aid supplies. You will go ahead of the walkers to make contact at each rest stop and loop back to pick up walkers who may need assistance.

People to hold the Pavilion at Geary Park – If you want to support the event but are unable to walk, this may be the job for you. You may do the entire day or share the time with others.JudyPalmer01

Someone to organize food at the end of the walk (solicit donations from Avalon Bakery, Garden Fresh Salsa, Natural food Patch, Western Market, etc.) Something simple but filling to recharge the walkers.
