As part of their giving back to the community, the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce gives scholarships to graduating seniors from Ferndale High School and/or University High School.  This year they are able to give out two $500 scholarships.

Those interested in applying should contact their school’s Youth Counseling Office, or they can call Katie Johnson, Program Manager for the Ferndale Area Chamber at 248-542-2160. The deadline is March 31.

Another way the Chamber connects is through their annual Community Connection Breakfast at Ferndale High School. This event is a chance for local business owners to meet Ferndale Schools students and learn about their dinos02sidelogoeducational experiences.  The event is particularly geared towards real estate professionals who may want to tout the benefits of Ferndale Schools to families who are considering buying a home in the district, however all Chamber members are welcome to attend.

The Community Breakfast takes place March 18 from 8am to 9am at Ferndale High School.  RSVP to (248)586-8651.

This year there will also be a discussion session with the business owners as part of the district’s strategic planning process.  This process is to help guide Ferndale Schools into the future with goals and priorities desired by the community.  To read more on the strategic planning process, check out our previous stories at and
