Opening of The Body Eclectic at Lawrence St. Gallery

Lawrence St. Gallery was packed for the opening reception of their annual juried exhibition The Body Eclectic. This is the 13th year for the show, and there were 80 pieces selected out of over 150 submitted. The collection was juried by artist Edee Joppich, who selected works based on diversity in interpretation and content, style, medium and scale. “The centuries old tradition of artists honoring the human figure continues in this stellar exhibit,” Joppich said.
Ferndale resident Jud Coveyou won best of show for a colored pencil and gouache creation “Between a Dark and a Light Place.” Others that received special recognition are:
~Second Place: Suzanne Rock from Leonard, MI for “Youth” watercolor
~Third Place: Mary Ann Rutledge from Sterling Hts. for ” Picasso’s World – Before and After” Bronze Sculpture

5. Fran Seikaly from West Bloomfield for ” Richard” Pastel
