City Unveils Logo and Website Design
(Crystal Proxmire, Dec. 18, 2012)
Although the new website won’t be live until at least March 2013, members of the City Council and the public did get a peak at the City’s new logo and website design, passing the branding initiatives with unanimous support.
Currently the City of Ferndale website has plenty of out-dated information, and requires an outside contractor to make changes to the site. Once the new site is launched, updates will be made in-house, analytics will be tracked, and content will be better organized. A searchable document library will put all forms in one easy place, and the homepage will features items of interest, along with most popular pages.
Joseph Gacioch, Project & Grant Coordinator has worked with Artemis Technologies and Skidmore Studios to develop a new website that would be “audience centric, minimalistic, efficient, and modern in design and function,” according to the presentation to City Council on Dec. 17, 2012.
The logo features a cropped-short letter F, with two brush strokes of paint forming the middle horizontal line. The logo features light green paint for official city government functions, with an orange stroke for DPW, red for Fire and blue for Police.
Within hours of posting the picture of the new logo, there was already much discussion on The Ferndale 115 News Facebook, with most of the commentators responding critically to the new look.
