Police Report: 15 lbs of Pot in FedEx Package, Suspects Arrested

On 12/12/12 at about 10:30 a.m. police acted on a citizen’s tip that a suspicious package was dropped off by a FedEx
truck and picked up a short time later by people in a car. The caller said that this suspicious activity occurred repeatedly
over past months. He believed drug activity was taking place. Ferndale police responded to the complaint and an officer
spotted the suspect vehicle driving away from the area. Officers stopped the vehicle on Woodward south of 8 Mile.
Officers immediately smelled marijuana from inside of the car and arrested the driver (Kevin STOLGER) for a small
amount of marijuana that was in a cup like ashtray in the vehicle. The passenger (Phillip Cooper) was arrested on an
outstanding warrant. Hazel Park police K‐9 unit assisted and the dog indicated the package in the vehicle might contain
drugs. Police obtained a search warrant and examined the contents of the box and found that it contained
approximately 15 Lbs. of marijuana.
During the booking procedure, police found Stolger had marijuana hidden in his clothing.
On 12/13/12, Cooper was released on personal bond after being arraigned for the marijuana he had on his person.
Regarding the 15 lbs of marijuana, the case is still under investigation and no warrants have been issued at this time.
