(FPL Press Release, Nov. 3, 2012)

Ferndale Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Keyser as Library Director.  She will begin her employment on November 19. Ms. Keyser is currently the director at Hazel Park Memorial Library. She is a Ferndale resident and has a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Wayne State University.

Library Board President Jim O’Donnell stated, “Jessica impressed the library board with her many accomplishments at Hazel Park, her management approach, and her commitment to the library’s place in our community. We look forward to her leadership of our library.”

Ms. Keyser comments, “I’ve lived in Ferndale for nearly ten years, and have seen the library grow and change dramatically. The Ferndale library is known throughout the area for its unique programming and distinct character. The city has so much momentum right now, and the library is really a destination in the heart of our thriving downtown. I hope to foster the library’s continued growth and will work to achieve the goals that the community has set for the library in the strategic plan. I am thrilled to be the new Library Director, and excited to see what the future holds for Ferndale!”
