Canine to Five to Open Second Location in Ferndale

(Canine to Five Press Release, Oct. 15, 2012)

Canine to Five, the popular pet care facility in Midtown Detroit, is opening a second location in Ferndale.  The new Ferndale location, located at 2141 Hilton Rd., will offer daycare services and is opening in late November.  The building once housed the Hilton Cue Family Billiards Club.

“Canine to Five has grown exponentially since we opened in Midtown seven years ago,” said Liz Blondy, Canine to Five founder and owner. “Our current facility is consistently at capacity, so we knew it was time to expand to another location and Ferndale is at the crossroads of where many of our current customers live.  We are looking forward to servicing them closer to their homes, and meeting our new neighbors and canine friends in Oakland County.”

Canine to Five Ferndale will be open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The facility will have 4,000 square feet of indoor climate-controlled play space.

Canine to Five’s Detroit facility opened at the corner of Mack and Cass Avenue in May of 2007 as Detroit’s only dog daycare facility.  Blondy has expanded Canine to Five’s operations in the intervening years, to include overnight cageless boarding and grooming.

“We are going to open Canine to Five Ferndale with our core serve, daycare, first, but plan to expand our operations to include boarding and grooming in the next year or so.”

Canine to Five is also a sponsor of Fido does Ferndale on October 18, where they will offer nail trimming and host an after party at Rosie O’Grady’s.
