Commercial Filmed in Ferndale

(C. Proxmire, Ferndale 115 News, Aug. 30, 2012)

Ferndale was the scene of yet another production on Wednesday as a camera crew came in to shoot the newest Consumers Energy commercial.  The day began with an early morning shot of Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop and the Library Bookstore.  The crew then moved to various spots in the neighborhoods.

We caught up them on E. Troy Street near Paxton where a bright yellow house set the backdrop for a young man with a bicycle picking up his backpack and heading up the walkway.

DDA Director of Communications Chris Hughes was excited about the filming. “Downtown Ferndale is a natural when it comes to exemplifying what’s right about the small and smart business people that are creating commerce every day.   Consumer’s Energy made a great choice when it choose to focus on our downtown.  It will be fun to see how it turns out,” she said.

Watch the video below to see part of the filming.  Note that the video identifies the company as DTE.  We learned afterward that it is actually Consumers Energy.  A new video will be posted when possible.
