The Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the Fourth Annual Ferndale Commercial Property Showcase on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the pedestrian alley behind Dino’s (22740 Woodward) to introduce potential buyers or renters to spaces that are available in the City. It featured retail, commercial and industrial sites. Eighty people attended the event and enjoyed complementary food and drinks, as well as tour of some Downtown Ferndale properties.
The Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) consider business development an important part of the work they do for the community. The Chamber handed out booklets describing 25 available properties including the former GAP building (22801 Woodward) at the corner of 9 Mile and Woodward. This 15,000 square foot retail space can be split among up to 5 tenants, or can be leased in its entirety at a rate of $14-17.50 per square foot monthly, and is managed by Grenadier Properties.
Other properties include 1416 W. Eight Mile, available through Guy Scavone, 642 E. Nine Mile, available through Rick Ax at Berridge and Morrison, and 1100 Woodward Heights by Tyson Butts of Pa-Cress.
An overview of the Ferndale Commercial Property Showcase describes some of the benefits of doing business in Ferndale.
“The City of Ferndale is a cool, compelling place. Bordering on the city of Detroit, resting at the intersection of two major interstates, I-75 and I-696, and bisected by one of the nation’s most famous roadways, Woodward Avenue, it provides a picturesque gateway to Oakland County.
‘When it comes to economic health, the area has long drawn its strength from a thriving industrial base. Companies like Credit Union ONE and Gage Products have long-standing roots in Ferndale. Field leaders like Foley & Mansfield and Wright & Filippis have moved to Ferndale. And new businesses like Myine Eelctronics and B. Nektar Meadery are finding that Ferndale is a perfect place to grow a business.”
