Every year, the national organization, the Character Education Partnership recognizes schools for achieving its standard of excellence encompassing 11 Principles of Effective Character Education through its National Schools of Character program.
In 2011, Roosevelt Primary School has been recognized for being a school that brings out the best in everyone, including students, staff, parents and community members through its school-wide Brain-Smart Start program.
The designation is the result of a rigorous evaluation process through which representatives from the Character Education Partnership visited the school and determined that Roosevelt has successfully created a school culture where all children thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
Roosevelt Primary is also a 2011 State of Michigan School of Character. Roosevelt Primary is now considered a character education ambassador and will serve as a model school for other educators providing outreach and sharing the positive impact character education can have.
Roosevelt Primary is also having a Kindergarten Kick Off on Tuesday, May 24 from 6-7:30pm. The meeting will begin in the media center at Roosevelt Primary School. Please RSVP if you and your child are able to attend. 248-586-8800
