Eggstravaganza 2011

Eggstravaganza 2011

(4/11/2011)

Despite the rainy weather families turned out to Martin Road Park on April 9, 2011 for the Ferndale Recreation’s Annual Eggstravaganza.  Youngsters were divided into age-appropriate groups and let loose on a park full of candy-filled plastic eggs.  Operation KidEquip, a nonprofit organization designed to giving students the tools they need to make it in school, provided a free book and surprise to each child.  And they got to meet the Easter Bunny.

The event cost just $3 per child, which covers the Recreation Department costs for hosting it.  “This is a great event for the entire family,” said Recreation Supervisor Jill Stricker, CPRP. “The kids really enjoy searching for eggs and then finding the treats hidden inside!”
