Ferndale Library Charges Ahead with Ferndale Reads Program this March

The Ferndale Public Library is getting back to its roots by doing what they do best. Promoting reading! This March, the library is putting on a month-long program of events that will be centered around a favorite book among the staff: John Connolly’s The Book of Lost Things. The program kicks off March 3rd with The Crooked Man’s Open Mic Night, where free copies of the book will be distributed, Chazzano Coffee will be served and local talent will show their stuff. Ferndale Reads will feature lots of things for readers of all ages to do this March. In keeping with the books fairy-tale theme, the library will host a film series called “The Other Side” which will include The Secret Garden, Coraline, Pan’s Labyrinth, and a special sing-a-long event featuring The Wizard of Oz.

The jewel in the crown of Ferndale Reads will be a visit from the author himself. John Connolly, Irish best-selling author will discuss his book and answer questions at the Ferndale Library on March 29th. Those interested in attending are encouraged to reserve a free ticket at the library, as event is expected to be well attended.

Five book discussions will take place in town throughout the month including gatherings at AJ’s Café, Treat Dreams, The Emory and of course, the library.

Go Comedy! will put it’s unique improvisational spin on The Book of Lost Things in a series of special discounted shows on Thursdays starting March 10th and ending March 31st.

Three storytellers will read fairy-tales for children at the library on March 19th.
